Did You Work On It?

Now that the holiday season is over, we’ve flipped over the leaf to another school term. 

Before we felt refreshed, reinvigorated, and remotivated, we were all drained and perhaps overworked. 

What happened? 

Your colleagues would often ask, Did you work on it throughout the break? 

With delight, you’d say no, I didn’t. 

One key way to come back more wide-eyed than ever is to take a break. The only work you should be putting in, is putting your projects on the back burner. 

Why the Rush?

It can get disheartening when all your friends are getting the job of their dreams while you’re here only getting ready to graduate. 

Everybody else is moving on, and you feel left behind. 

When you’re in your early 20’s looking desperately to find the perfect job, you’ve got the whole rest of your career ahead (40+ years) to find it. 

There’s no need to beat yourself down. 

Building Relationships as a Shy Person

Getting talked over is one of the most frustrating and discouraging things a quiet person could experience. 

Having to repeat ourselves is one of the last things we want to do in a conversation. 

But, building relationships is a 2 way street. 

It’s in your power (as much as theirs) to form meaningful conversation and dialogue, because both of you have something important to say (one not being more important than the other).
