If what you’re doing or what you’re striving for comes from somebody else, we might have a problem.
The problem is that what you’re doing is not actually yours. You never had the intention to do this, but you’re doing this because somebody else told you it would be good and that it would be the right thing to do in your situation.
Just because it was good for somebody else doesn’t mean that it will do the same magic for you.
There’s nobody to keep up with, and there’s nothing you’re really missing out on.
Don’t do what everybody else is doing. Do what works for you.
Out of all the people you’ve come across, that you’ve met, and have yet to meet, how many have influenced what you think of yourself?
And, how do you get that number to zero?
In other words, how can we let go of self judgement?
Because the moment we let go of self judgement, we can be ourselves.
It seems like everybody coming out of design school (and more!) are looking to be UX/UI designers.
The good news is that right now, UX designers are clearly in high demand.
However, not all UX designers are equal.
The point here is that even though all our peers might be getting flashy UX design jobs right now, it’s not the only thing out there for us creatives.
